Chartered Financial Planner
Declan achieved a First-Class Honours Business Management Degree from The University of Birmingham. As part of his degree, in Year 3 he worked as a Business Consultant for IBM, based in London.
Declan is a Chartered Financial Planner, the gold standard of financial planning for ethics, professionals and a symbol of technical excellence. Declan loves meeting and getting to know new people, where he can build lasting long-term relationships and is passionate about delivering independent, holistic and progressive financial planning, enabling clients achieve their financial ambitions.
Outside of work Declan is a keen all-round sportsman, an enthusiast of both football, tennis and golf. Some of his achievements to date include, representing the Edgbaston Priory Tennis Club Men’s 3rd Team, completing a half marathon and formally being The University of Birmingham 1st Team Football Captain. Declan’s love of sport often extends to his holidays and travels where he can be frequently found both sailing and skiing. Declan is also an avid reader, mainly focusing on non-fiction such as The Times and The Economist.

R01 – Financial Services, Regulations and Ethics: This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics.
R02 – Investments Principles and Risk: This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.
R03 – Personal Taxation: This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.
R04 – Pensions and Retirement Planning: This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.
R05 – Financial Protection: This qualification assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.
R06 – Financial Planning Practice: This qualification assesses the practical application of technical knowledge and planning skills already gained, typically through previous study, thereby supporting the provision of competent and appropriate advice.
CF6 – Mortgage Advice: This qualification assesses the understanding of the various types of mortgage product and repayment options and the giving of mortgage advice.
CF8 – Long Term Care Insurance: This qualification assesses your understanding of Long Term Care (LTC) cover, including legal, taxation and regulatory issues and the responsibilities of local authorities.
J10 – Discretionary Investment Management: The objective of this unit is to develop knowledge and understanding of the role of the Discretionary Investment Manager, and the ability to analyse and apply financial information and portfolio management skills
J02 – Trusts: This qualification assesses knowledge and understanding of the various types of trusts.
AF1 – Personal Tax and Trust Planning: This qualification develops in depth financial planning skills related to personal tax and trusts.
AF4 Investment planning: This qualification develops in depth financial planning skills related to investments and the management of investment portfolios.
AF5 Financial Planning Process: This qualification develops an understanding of the financial planning process when giving advice to clients and how to research and construct a financial plan.
