R01 – Financial Services, Regulations and Ethics: This unit assesses a knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, including regulation, legislation and the Code of Ethics.
R02 – Investments Principles and Risk: This unit assesses a knowledge and understanding of investment products and the application of the investment advice process.
R03 – Personal Taxation: This unit assesses a knowledge and understanding of the UK taxation system, and the ability to analyse the taxation treatment of individuals and trusts during the investment advice process.
R04 – Pensions and Retirement Planning: This unit assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse pension and retirement planning issues.
R05 – Financial Protection: This unit assesses a knowledge and understanding of and ability to analyse financial protection planning issues.
R06 – Financial Planning Practice: This unit assesses the practical application of technical knowledge and planning skills already gained, typically through previous study, thereby supporting the provision of competent and appropriate advice.
J02 – Trusts: This unit develops and assesses knowledge and understanding of the various types of trust.
AF1 – Personal Tax & Trust Planning: This level 6 unit develops in depth financial planning skills related to personal tax and trusts, assessing technical knowledge and focused application to practical situations.
AF4 – Investment Planning: This level 6 unit develops in depth financial planning skills related to investments and the management of investment portfolios, assessing technical knowledge and focused application to practical situations.
Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management (CertPFS (DM)): This level 4 Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management develops the wealth strategy and portfolio management skills required for effective discretionary investment management.
