My Route to Chartered

After years of studying and countless exams, I am pleased to report I have attained Chartered Financial Planner status. My journey started upon graduating from The University of Birmingham with a first-class honours Business Management (BSc) degree, where I built critical and analytical skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of current business practices. I believe my degree has equipped me with the expertise to understand the ever-changing world of business and finance at both an economic and individual client level.

Following the completion of my degree in July 2017, I have undertaken 13 Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) examinations throughout this period, all of which I fortunately passed at the first attempt. The first step was to complete my diploma in financial planning which I achieved in January 2019, enabling me to provide financial advice to clients. Since then, I have undertaken numerous and challenging advanced diploma examinations to improve my knowledge and expertise, to which completion was confirmed earlier this month. My estimations conclude that since leaving university in 2017, this process has involved a staggering 1,500 hours of study.

Since embarking on this journey, attaining Chartered status has been very important to me, due to its symbol of technical competence, a commitment to the ongoing development of skills and knowledge and an adherence to the highest levels of ethical and professional conduct.
