For those that know me, it is very rare that I am lost for words however on arrival to the office Tuesday morning the sight that welcomed me was truly overwhelming. A spread worthy of a royal visit was a sight to be behold. Our Henwood Court Bake Off could not have gone ahead without the amazing support of my fellow colleagues who on many occasions have told me they can’t bake! It’s a lie…..With a total of 25 bakes, the boardroom table was only just big enough to house them all.
At 1p.m. our celebrity judges (Mary, Paul & Prue) alias guests from the YMCA pulled into the car park. Judging quickly commenced diving into the first cake; a bonfire spectacular. Words of “scrummy, moist, creamy” were a few that were shouted across the room. After tasting all 25, yes all 25 there was no stopping them, true professionals, a group huddle was held and the room locked down whilst they made their final decision.

3rd Place – Olivia (Bonfire Spectacular)
At 2p.m. our doors were opened and the crowds waiting outside were greeted with tea and coffee along with, yes you guessed it, a slice of cake.
By 4p.m. all was calm and the thought of tasting any more cake was far from our minds.
We are delighted to report that on the day we raised £158. Nick & Victoria have agreed to match this so along with our JustGiving Page which currently stands at £250, we have raised a superb £566 for the YMCA Stepping Up Challenge.
